The Caterpillar Lab at Bedrock Gardens

Bedrock Gardens is excited to announce the return of the Caterpillar Lab on June 7th and 8th. Bring the whole family to see live caterpillar displays and learn how the Caterpillar Lab cares for these beautiful, fascinating insects. Find out what they eat, how they metamorphosize, and how they defend themselves in the wild. See living caterpillars of all shapes and sizes under a microscope, and find out which ones might live in your own backyard! Great for all ages, and perfect for families and nature lovers. Join a Caterpillar Hunt through the Gardens Arrive later in the day, and join Caterpillar Lab Director Sam Jaffe on a walk-through Bedrock Gardens looking for native caterpillars and other insects. These special walks will be held from 2-3PM on both days, June 7 and 8. The walk is appropriate for naturalists, gardeners and explorers both young and old. Best for children ages 11 and up. The walk is free with admission, and is limited to 20 participants. Tickets to the Caterpillar Lab This event is free with a $15 General Admission ticket paid for at our Visitor's Center when you arrive. Members receive free admission. Children ages 12 and under always get into Bedrock Gardens for free.
