Legendary Jazz Vocalist Sheila Jordan

Legendary Jazz Vocalist, Sheila Jordan, will perform with Charlie Jennison (sax), Eugene Uman (piano), John Hunter (bass), and Tim Gilmore (drums) at Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club on Sunday, September 11, 5:30-8:00 pm. A pioneer of bebop and scat singing, Sheila Jordan is one of a handful of jazz artists in the country to be recognized as a “Jazz Master Fellow" by the National Endowment for the Arts, in addition to many other prestigious jazz honors. Still going strong at 93 years of age, having recently performed at NYC’s Birdland and just finishing a European tour, this is a rare opportunity to attend a performance by such an important jazz vocalist. The event is a fundraiser for the Seacoast Jazz Society, a nonprofit organization in NH dedicated to jazz education and fostering this historically important genre of jazz music.
